So, it seems like a lot as we head into the warmer weather, we’re seeing more and more businesses trying to offer green options. But what are all of those eco-friendly options really? The truth is that many of them aren’t really green at all.
What you see on the left is in the green and what you see on the right is not. Not all eco-friendly options are green, but most of them are.
The truth is that many eco-friendly options aren’t really eco-friendly at all, and they arent really green at all. What you see on the left are just plain old marketing, marketing that may or may not be green. The truth is that many of them arent really green at all. They arent really eco-friendly at all. What you see on the right are just plain old marketing, marketing that may or may not be eco-friendly.
I’m not saying that companies should be more responsible in how they market their products. I’m saying that the entire eco-system must be taken out of consideration.
I want to see companies that are truly eco-friendly. I want to see companies that are genuinely concerned with the environmental impact of their products. At the same time, I want to see companies that care about the eco-system of the company they are selling to.
So I’m here to tell you that the Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department has decided that their environmental health standards are more important than their ability to sell their products. In other words, they’re not going to take the chance of having their environmental health department taking a look at your product and asking you if you think it’s a green product.
This was just one of many examples that we encountered of how companies are cutting corners on environmental health. We also spoke with some other companies and they echoed this sentiment as well. But our good friend, Professor James G. Stankiewicz, who runs the University of California Davis School of Public Health, summed it up best: “I do not think these actions are a result of concern for the environment or health, but rather a result of a desire to be more profitable.
There are many green products out there that claim to reduce or eliminate environmental problems, but I think they just make it sound more fun, easier to sell, and we might just have gotten them here in the US. These products might claim to do things like reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but they are really just trying to get as many people as possible to buy their product. This is not a green product, it is a green marketing ploy.
The same cannot be said for the contra Costa County environmental health program. This program is, according to a recent article in The New York Times, “a network of environmental consultants who have become increasingly aggressive in seeking out new and innovative ways to help the county’s residents. They are not opposed to the idea of a government-run, government-sponsored program but rather they are motivated by a desire to try new things and find ways to help this community more effectively and efficiently.
The idea is that they want to help the residents of Contra Costa County better manage their health, especially the health of their children. The program began in 2009 with the support of the county’s Health Department and the city of Costa Mesa. In fact, the program was the talk of the town for a few days in October of that year when Contra Costa County held a “Health Summit” in order to discuss the possible creation of a Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department.
