I love this quote from Oprah’s book, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life and really can’t get enough of it.
The quote really hits home when you read it in context with the first paragraph of the article. If you’ve ever had a mental illness or been diagnosed with a mental illness in the past, you know how devastating it can be to deal with and how it can ruin your life. So yeah, it’s all good.
This is a great quote from the Oprah book, and its true. The most important thing in mental health is to take a minute and look at yourself in the mirror. The only way to fix yourself is to take a good look in the mirror. A lot of things in your life are out of your control, so when you look at yourself and see things that are going wrong, you can fix them.
The foundation of mental health is the ability to recognize when you’re having a problem, and take steps to fix it. The biggest difference I see between people who are happy and people who are not is that they are able to recognize and control their own emotions. They can be compassionate and caring, even though they may feel like they’re acting in ways that are emotionally violent.
I see people who are so good with themselves and their emotions that they don’t even know they are having a problem. I see people who are so self-absorbed that they don’t even recognize when they feel emotional pain because they are so good at hiding it. I see people who are so good at hiding their feelings that they don’t even realize theyre feeling emotional pain.
Mental illness is really hard to define. People who are mentally ill may not be sick at all, in fact, they may be perfectly okay. It’s a complicated thing, but I think most people who are clinically diagnosed and treated for mental illness actually have a mental illness. This is because mental illness can manifest in many different ways. For instance, a person can go through periods of extreme anxiety, depression, and suicidality. Some people are completely normal, but others are not.
The question of whether someone is mentally ill or not is a very personal one. Its hard to say without an exact diagnosis, which is why we like to use the term “core” to describe people who do not have a mental illness. A person who has a mental illness, however, may or may not be diagnosed with it. The same applies to the term “mental health”, though.
Mental health is a broad category with many subcategories. The people we’ve described as mentally ill or having a mental illness are people who have a combination of mental health issues as well as other conditions like depression, anxiety, and so on. The terms core and mental illness are used interchangeably.
The term core is typically used to describe people with a strong tendency to self-harm. People with a mental illness (and, yes, we see people with mental illnesses with a mental health issue as well) tend to be more likely to commit self-harm than those who simply have a mental health issue. So, yes, someone who is mentally ill is someone who has a mental health issue and someone who is just having a mental health issue.
The point is that there is a difference between a mental illness and a mental health issue. The former is often called a “mental disorder,” while the latter is called, “mental illness.
