I have a friend who suffers from a condition called “post-traumatic stress disorder” or PTSD. It happens when you experience a traumatic event and can’t remember the event. It’s a very common problem that affects many people. PTSD tends to run in families. And with families, there is a natural inclination to “let them in.” But when your spouse or partner has trouble remembering a traumatic event, you can’t really trust him with the safety of your health.
Like most people I know, one of my best friends has PTSD, and he says that it has affected his personal life as well. His entire family is on a mission to help him remember and heal from the past. He says he’s not sure how to do that. I said that I wanted to help him in his quest, but that I had my own issues to work out before I got involved.
