I am in the middle of a health and wellness expos for expos.org. I will be attending the expo in August in San Francisco, CA and I wanted to take a moment to share some photos taken at the expo. I am hoping this will inspire others to attend future expos as well. Here are some photos of the expo including my family and a friend.
After I published this blog post, I received an email from a friend who was in the expo. He told me that he had also attended and was also impressed by the expo. He said that he had gone earlier in the day and had taken a photo of the expo, but had forgotten about it. He said that I had taken a picture a year ago that he kept on his phone and had just forgotten about it.
I’m not sure where this photo came from, but I’m sure it’s a good one to keep on your phone.
One of the neat things about this expo is that it was run by the American Heart Association in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association. So it was the first time that both groups had done a joint expo. The two groups have come together (and even shared a booth) a few times in the past to educate people about health and wellness.
The event was a success, but there’s something to be said about the fact that this was the first time that such an expo was run by a group of two organizations. The American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association have been working together for so long, that they both know people and understand the importance of keeping health and wellness in mind when people go out and do things.
It’s not easy to do that. The American Heart Association runs a fantastic website about health and wellness. It’s called HeartHealth.gov and features videos and information about physical activity and nutrition. But this expo was run by a health department in an office building. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into and the event was quite a let down.
The health department had to sign an NDA and then they had to give us a list of participants they would have to give a presentation for. The list had to have 100 names. Then they had to send us a letter saying they were going to talk to us about the expo and explain what we were doing. They weren’t even allowed to show us the actual expo. They had to send a “health informational” email.
This was the first expo that I ever attended in person and I think it’s only one of the largest expos I’ve attended to date. It’s also the first one that I would say I wouldn’t put in my bucket list, but I’m not going to include it here because it just doesn’t fit in.
Although this expo was a huge deal, it was just the beginning of the health expo I will be attending in 2016. The expo will cover a wide range of topics related to health and wellness. We will learn about the latest nutrition trends, how to change your body image, and much, much more.
I’m not sure what the focus is for the expo, but if you want to know if you should attend, I suggest you sign up for the expo’s newsletter. I signed up right before the expo started so that I would be the first one to know what was happening.
