If you’re going to drink something you should probably drink something you’re aware of. I’m talking about the kind of food that’s on the inside, not the outside. So, for example, I’m not going to drink the stuff that’s served on the table with the food. The food comes first.
Not everything that comes out of your mouth has your best interests at heart. So, for example, I don’t drink water. I drink whatever contains potassium. I don’t even drink anything that contains sodium. And I don’t drink alcohol.
So, what makes you think I want to drink things with potassium? I think Ive been taking potassium supplements for years. That could include anything from supplements to potassium pills to potassium shampoos. Most of my supplements are a combination of potassium and vitamin C. Why would I want something that contains potassium and not something like I have on the inside? And I want to eat foods with potassium.
To start with, potassium is known to boost your body’s immune system. You’ve probably heard of this because you get sick more easily when you’re dehydrated. It’s also supposed to increase energy, so it also helps you burn fat. You can find potassium supplements to get potassium (plus vitamin C) on the internet, but you’d be surprised how often people ask for supplements without asking for potassium.
As for fat burning, I have a small collection of potassium pills on my desk, and theyre all made of the same ingredient, potassium phosphate. I take about three tablets a day to keep from getting too dehydrated, and when I take my other prescription vitamins, I take potassium, B-complex and D.
Just like the potassium and vitamin C pills, potassium is a water-soluble mineral. So you’re talking about water containing potassium and that’s it. In terms of fat burning, potassium is part of an electrolyte, which is just a fancy name for a mineral. Water is the major source of potassium in the body; it does not need to be oxidized to the point where it becomes potassium. Water is naturally present in almost all foods and beverages.
It might seem like I’m not happy with this diet, especially after living in Singapore and other Asian countries for so many years, but as with everything else here, I’m just having a little fun. My diet is not really a diet. It’s my lifestyle, and I’m just doing what works for me. I’m not trying to get into a competition about having a healthier diet. I’m just trying to get into the habit of eating better.
