I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be a part of many wonderful events throughout the year. This year I am fortunate enough to be attending the Halloween party at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Rose Parade. I have been asked to blog about many of them. I am a huge fan of Halloween and the Rose Parade. Every year, my husband and I have been excited to be able to support such events in our families.
Martha Stewart Halloween parties are one of the reasons I am so happy to support them in my own home. You can usually find a lot of my friends and family attending the annual events as well. I love the costume parade which seems to be the same everywhere I go. It is one of my favorite events and one that I am glad the museum is having again this year. In my own home I love the costume parade as well but it is held outside instead of inside the museum building.
I love my friend and coworker, Martha Stewart, and I love her show on Fox News, Martha Stewart Tonight. I was so excited to get a sneak peek of her new Halloween decorations just a few weeks ago. The display was absolutely stunning and she has been putting up so many amazing displays for us to check out. It is really hard to pick just one of my favorite items.
I have mixed feelings about the parade being outside. I love the parade and the fact that Halloween is so close to New Year’s Eve. It’s close enough that we are usually talking about the same thing. However, I am a bit nervous about the fact that there might be some people wandering around in costume and causing havoc. I don’t know if they can handle the costume stuff, but I do know that I am not ready for that yet.
I do love those costumes. I have been making my own for over a decade now. One of the things I have really enjoyed about making costumes for my family is that I am not limited to just one costume. I can make an outfit for any of my kids. Some of my kids are more into their Halloween costumes then others, but I do always end up making a costume for my kids. I also like the fact that I can make an outfit for all of my kids at once.
Martha Stewart has a saying: “Make it yours.” That makes me want to make costumes all the time. It’s just so cool to work with other people and all see the same things in the same way. I might even keep making more costumes. I’m going to try to get my kids to start making their own, too.
I am going to go ahead and make my own Halloween costumes, too. I have a couple that I wear out to the local haunted house to keep them from getting too raggedy. I am going to start making some of them for sure.
I have a couple of Halloween parties happening already. One is going to a friend’s home to try and get him to go, but it’s not going to work out. But the other is being held at my house.
The other night I had a couple of friends over and we had a big night. In fact, the night I had my last, my husband and I had a double-date with our girlfriends. We spent the entire evening just talking.
I think the most important thing about Halloween is that it’s the time of year when we most like to be together. And a lot of people are very busy. On the other hand, we have a lot of time to ourselves. So there’s a lot of people whose lives are busy and other people who’re just happy to have us by their side. The other night I had a couple of friends over and we had a big night.
