The number of mental health-related news headlines each month is truly shocking. For example, in August of 2016, the number of news headlines on mental health increased by 1130 percent from the previous month. And that’s just a small sample of headlines from a few months ago.
As much as the media is obsessed with the number of headlines about mental health, the real story is the increase in the number of people actually getting help. And this is why there is so much mental health news.
The number of people affected by mental health is staggering. Last year the number of people who were experiencing symptoms of mental health was more than double the number of deaths. And that’s just the number of people who die from mental health-related causes. Even though there will be people who die from mental health related causes, there are also people who are affected by it and don’t know about it.
Many of us have been to a mental hospital or crisis center and there are so many people who have no idea they are there for a reason. I guess its like a little piece of our own minds that we don’t realize is even there.
Mental illness is a very real issue. Its just like diabetes and heart disease and some of these diseases can be very serious and can lead to death. But mental illness can be more subtle and can be caused by mental health issues like depression or bipolar disorder. This is also why people are sometimes referred to as “mentally ill” by the medical community.
We all know that mental illness can manifest in many ways, but one of the most common symptoms of mental illness is disordered thought, thought patterns, and behavior. And that’s what you do when you’re on a mental health month. Every time you’ve had a thought or action that you did not want to do, you try to stop it.
I think most of the people who hear this might get a little bit confused.
Thats exactly what I get when I see people who think theyve had a thought or action they dont want to do. Most of the time that is just their disordered thinking. However, it can also be a sign of a deeper problem that needs further attention. Just because youre on a mental health month, that doesnt mean you have to stop using drugs or alcohol.
Yes, you do not have to stop using drugs or alcohol. However, it does mean you need to make sure youre in a place where there are no more drugs and alcohol. Otherwise, youll just have to suffer the consequences.
Mental health months are a bit like a detox. You need to check yourself in and get your mind healthy enough to function.
