I’m always shocked at the amount of people that don’t know the difference between an oil paint and latex paint. Oil paints are actually the harder (and more expensive) kind to apply to surfaces. They are great for creating a professional look on walls, trim, and floors, but they can’t be used for interior painting.
I agree. Oil paints only last so long and there is often a lot of maintenance that goes into keeping them looking great. If you’re painting your home’s interior and exterior and you are not an experienced painter, latex paints are the way to go. They do not degrade very quickly, are easy to use, and are easy to maintain.
I also use oils. I have a few different types of oils. I use a very natural oil called Burnt Orange. It is a very light yellow color that looks very natural. I also use a very thick clear oil called Super Violet. It works fantastic for interior and exterior painting. Like a lot of other body paints, I use it directly onto my floors.

It is very important to pick a color scheme that you like and are comfortable with. For instance, it is important in this case to pick something that your kids will enjoy but that you can also stand to use. If you do a color scheme with something they will be too scared to change, then they won’t change at all. I have a sister and two brothers, and every year we have the same color scheme, which causes a lot of problems.
While you can do a great deal by painting your own house, I would not recommend it. The thing about painting a home is that you do it for a living so you do get to try different things. So if you are painting a house, consider doing it for a living.
