It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I painted my pumpkin house. I’ve only painted the front half so far, but it’s my most ambitious project to date. This painting is my most ambitious project to date.
The pumpkin has been on my mind for so long, Ive been thinking about it for so long that I’ve been spending a lot more time on it lately. I think this painting is the first thing I’ve painted that I’ve actually gotten really good at. I think it’s because I’ve been working on it for way too long, and I’m really enjoying the process, but I also think it has its own aesthetic to it.
Pumpkin is a very popular fruit in the US. We all know that. Its usually not that hard to find your favorite pumpkin on the internet. But I think, like so many other things, pumpkin deserves a lot of its own kind of recognition. Its the thing I really think about every time I cook a pumpkin pie. I’m not sure what the pumpkin is trying to tell me, but its all about the texture, the color, the scent, the taste.
This is a painting I made for a friend. I love the way it turned out. I think it has its own aesthetic to it.
