Dr. Perricone would like you to know that twenty years of research went into this. Twenty years! He'd like you to sit with that.The cream absorbs well and does genuinely deliver on hydration. It is, in my opinion, a serious piece of kit. I would also going to say that it is deserving of the price point (especially given the 20 years...).. The DMAE, I had to look that one up— a cell membrane stabiliser with legitimate science behind it. The neuropeptides and hyaluronic acid are solid supporting cast. My skin looked plumper in the morning as it should when properly hydrated the eve prior. Not sculpture, but noticeably less defeated. That does not happen with all products, I would say maybe 20% of the products I try.Now. You may recall that Cindy Crawford spent the better part of a decade selling us a melon that wouldn't rot. The logic being: if the melon stays fresh, so shall your face. We were younger then. We believed things. Well...Perricone has looked at that melon, nodded respectfully, and raised it one Swiss apple. Also reportedly resistant to rotting. I don't know what's happening in Switzerland with their fruit but apparently the stem cells from this particular apple are doing something useful for human skin. More credible than it sounds. Which wasn't a high bar.I will say this: a significant portion of this price range appears to have gone into the formulation itself. The application is genuinely elegant — proper slip, no grease, absorbs with what I can only describe as lamellar precision. It softens immediately after. How do I know? I do the cuticle test. If I put a product on my cuticles and my cuticles go soft within 5 minutes, I know it hydrates. And there are a lot of products I put on my cuticles that somewhat make my skin feel soft but the cuticles themselves are still a little crunchy under the oils and grease. This passed the cuticle test. I put it on and I could actually push up my cuticles because it had softened them. As for on your face, It goes where it's told and disappears without drama. In a market full of creams that sit on your face and are so pleased with themselves that they will not go away and just disappear. This cream doesn't have that kind of ego, it's accomplishments are more refined, much like the brand.The fragrance ingredients — citral, linalool — are the one raised eyebrow at this price point. Unnecessary guests at a very well set table.Does it work? Yes. Did I give it enough time? I gave it the time it needed for me to tell that it had done "something". 2 weeks.Manage your expectations. Hydrate and moisturise accordingly.
